blah blah blah-g: small business

Where there's a wheel, there's a way! PODCAST ALERT!

Where there's a wheel, there's a way! PODCAST ALERT!

My goal for a podcast finally came true after sitting on my vision board for years and years! A meeting with Hurrdat Media through a contact at a pop-up that Emily Jessen invited me to quickly has become my most exciting meetings lately. :)

Join me as I share the behind-the-scenes diaries of curating my boutique-on-wheels experience from the beginning in 2017 up until now. I’ll be highlighting the latest trends, discussing the ins and outs of mobile retail and the inside scoop on the good, bad + ugly.

But it's not just about fashion; it's also about community. I also co-founded 'A Local Collective' with my boutique bestie, Katie Lakin and I'll dive into the heart of supporting small businesses and sharing killer collaborations. Discover how my passion for fashion extends beyond the truck, creating a collective space that uplifts and unites entrepreneurs in Nebraska.

You can expect conversations with fellow small business owners, insights into the fashion industry's trends, and exclusive peeks into hello ruby. And if you know me personally, you know I can't skip on celebrity gossip, Bravo, and the hottest trends on TikTok.

You'll be able to listen + watch on all major podcasting platforms! Thanks for the support, as always!

our boutique warehouse sale is bananas

our boutique warehouse sale is bananas

happy wednesday all! it's been awhile but we're back on the blog with some exciting news!

we're collaborating with local Omaha based boutiques and are coming to ya with multiple HUGE sticker sales for up to 90% off your favorite items! how is the possible may you ask? here's the DL.

it all started when my friend Katie, owner of Little Mango a kids boutique, and I decided to do a blowout sale to make room for new inventory in our boutiques. we rented out an old Hallmark off 120th & dodge to create a make-shift store front (dressing rooms made of old card holders to boot) and have been doing the same thing ever since.

we search for spaces to all over the omaha area to rent for a weekend and sell everything from sweaters, jackets, graphic tees, jeans, dresses, and more for as little as $5-$25!! (literally up to 90% off you guys, that's insane.)

events like this even sparked a new venture for Katie and I called A Local Collective. through this we've gotten to team up so many new small businesses across the state by hosting online shopping events to connect each other to new opportunity.

come shop this huge boutique warehouse sale & say hello to me, Katie, & our other local friends!

introducing our first {human} intern!

introducing our first {human} intern!

We have some exciting news at hello ruby fashion truck!!! We hired our first intern at the boutique! Denie will be working all summer break on our photoshoots, website, orders + pop-up events in the truck. If you see her, give her a friendly hello; she's sure to give ya a smile!

Learn about mah girl, Denie Jacobson:

Q: who are you?

A: I'm Denie, I'm from the small town of Gordon, Nebraska {way out west} and I'm a junior fashion merchandising major at UNL.

Q: describe your style.

A: My style is definitely always changing depending on the season and my mood. Right now I would say it's a combo of retro {thanks mom for the jeans, thanks dad for the graphic tees} and streetwear. My closet is filled with black and white, graphic tees, and denim but I'm trying to spice things up with pops of color lately!

Q: on a scale of 1-10, rate yourself on how weird you are.

A: 1000+, ask my mom, ask my dad, ask my friends. Too many sources to back this information it's probably a problem.

Q: what are you looking forward to the most with hello ruby?

A: I'm excited to see what all goes into running a boutique like you do! It's so exciting to see how successful you've become in the last year and know I will learn a lot in this summer to maybe have my own boutique someday in my future. AND to see Ruby all the time, of course, love doggies!

Q: if your closet was on fire what is the one item you would save?

A: If my closet was on fire I would save my senior homecoming dress from high school. {yikes} Sounds stupid but flipped backward it is the perfect jacket for a special occasion and is the most over the top thing I own that I would never buy again.

Q: what do you want to be when you grow up?

A: When I grow up I want to be a good mom, hopefully, a business owner, and just a happy human.

Q: fav animal? fav color? fav hobby?

A: My favorite animal hands down are doggiess- can't wait to get a big golden doodle like Ruby when I'm a "grownup". I do not have a favorite color, I like them all! My favorite hobby in my free time is to go running. My mom started me running when I was like 6 so it's just therapeutic and fun to do when I can!

Enjoy our fun + goofy photoshoot together!!!
